At Fern Hill School, we take great pride in our location near beautiful parks, trails, and the river, which allows us to integrate nature into our activities. We believe in the importance of spending time outdoors year-round, whether it’s spring, fall, or winter. Our students develop a deep love and appreciation for nature, exploring the environment in all seasons.
Last Friday, our Grade 7 and 8 students had an exciting opportunity to embrace the winter outdoors with a quinzee (snow shelter) building challenge. The recent snowfall provided the perfect conditions for this fun and educational activity. Students worked in teams, using their creativity and teamwork to build snow shelters. They had a fantastic time, and their hard work paid off as they successfully constructed their own shelters, all while fostering a greater connection to the outdoors and each other.
